Dhanush and Mammootty film ‘OM’ rescheduled for November 20 release

The action drama ‘OM: Chapter 1 - The Blood Moon’ has been rescheduled for a theatrical release on November 20, 2026. The film features the first on-screen collaboration between actors Dhanush and Mammootty.

Originally slated for October 16, the release was postponed to avoid a direct clash with Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer 2’. Dhanush noted the decision was made out of respect for Rajinikanth and to support the broader interests of the film industry. The film will also avoid the Diwali festival window to prevent competition with Suriya’s upcoming film, ‘Scene’.

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, the pan-Indian production also stars Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela, and Naseeruddin Shah. The technical team includes music composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K, and editor R Kalaivanan.
