Dharmasraya and Padang face water shortages due to drought

Dharmasraya Regency and Padang City are experiencing drought conditions due to a prolonged dry season, impacting the availability of clean water.

In Dharmasraya, the drought has affected several villages across the Pulau Punjung, Koto Baru, Timpeh, and Sungai Rumbai districts. To address the shortage, the Dharmasraya Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has received two water tanks from the West Sumatra BPBD to distribute to affected residents.

In Padang, drought conditions have been reported in the Kuranji and Koto Tangah districts, specifically affecting the Korong Gadang and Lambung Bukit neighborhoods. The Padang BPBD has received five water tanks and is distributing clean water directly to the homes of residents in need.
