DHL Express expands China logistics infrastructure with 177 million euro investment

DHL Express has significantly expanded its logistics infrastructure and air network in China to support growing international trade and cross-border e-commerce. The company invested 177 million euros to expand its strategic logistics center at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, tripling its processing capacity to approximately 900 tons per day.

In addition to the Shenzhen hub expansion, DHL has launched a new daily air route using a Boeing 767 wide-body freighter. This route connects Shanghai to Bangkok, Bahrain, and Brussels, adding up to 50 tons of air freight capacity per day.

These investments aim to strengthen connections between China and key markets in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. According to DHL Express CEO John Pearson, the expansion is designed to provide flexible and reliable networks for sectors such as semiconductors, life sciences, healthcare, and renewable energy, while adapting to evolving global supply chain needs.
