DHL Express launches new Shanghai-Bangkok flight route
DHL Express has launched a new daily direct flight service between Shanghai and Bangkok to support increasing trade flows between China and the Indochina region. The route, operated by a Boeing 767 freighter with a 50-ton maximum payload, follows a path connecting Shanghai, Bangkok, Bahrain, and Brussels.
The expansion aims to enhance connectivity between manufacturing and consumption markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. According to Peter Bardens, Senior Vice President for Network Operations & Aviation – Asia Pacific, the move responds to shifting trade patterns, specifically the growing movement of goods between China and Southeast Asian nations such as Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos.
By utilizing Bangkok as a strategic gateway to Indochina, DHL Express intends to consolidate shipments from China and Southeast Asia for more efficient distribution to global hubs in Bahrain and Brussels.
