Indian IPO market sees surge with multiple major listings

India's primary market is experiencing a significant surge in activity, with multiple companies launching initial public offerings (IPOs) in August 2026. Five major firms—Dhoot Transmission, Molbio Diagnostics, Milky Mist Dairy Food, Shiprocket, and Behari Lal Engineering—are collectively seeking to raise approximately Rs 7,443 crore.

Milky Mist Dairy Food, a packaged food company, opened its Rs 1,553-crore IPO on August 11. The issue, which includes a fresh issue and an offer for sale, was subscribed 79% on its first day, with strong interest from retail and non-institutional investors. The company plans to use proceeds for manufacturing expansion and strengthening cold-chain infrastructure.

Molbio Diagnostics launched a Rs 940-crore IPO on August 10, with a price band of Rs 768-807 per share. The company intends to use funds for research, development, and expanding manufacturing facilities in Goa and Visakhapatnam. Dhoot Transmission also entered the market with a Rs 3,066.89-crore IPO, targeting debt repayment and new manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Tamil Nadu.

Market experts note that while high liquidity is driving investor appetite, they advise caution regarding stretched valuations. Many investors are currently focusing on companies showing strong grey market premiums (GMP) as indicators of potential listing gains.
