Di Martino clan drug cache seized by Carabinieri

During the ‘Continuum Bellum IV’ operation, Italian Carabinieri seized 74 kilograms of dried marijuana from a secret cache controlled by the Di Martino clan. The seizure took place in the forested area of Località Franche di Sotto, on the border between the municipalities of Pimonte and Gragnano.

Specialists from the ‘Calabria’ Heliported Squadron assisted local authorities in searching the terrain. Investigators discovered high-resistance, waterproof plastic containers buried in the ground. In addition to the drugs, which were estimated to have a retail value of nearly one million euros, authorities recovered 41 rounds of various ammunition—including 18 cartridges for AK-47 assault rifles—as well as balaclavas and weapon maintenance kits.
