Dialysis services expand through new hospital offerings and mobile units

Enmore Regional Hospital is preparing to launch free dialysis services to support patients with kidney disease. Dr. Tracy Bovell, the hospital's CEO and Medical Superintendent, stated that while the facility already offers various surgical and clinical services, the addition of haemodialysis will be a key component of its expanded medical offerings. To ensure service continuity, several nurses have already undergone specialized training.

In South Australia, the government is investing over $100,000 to continue its Mobile Dialysis Unit program. The service aims to assist patients with chronic kidney disease by bringing essential treatments to popular holiday destinations, including Loxton, Wallaroo, and Robe. The unit can treat up to six patients daily, allowing individuals to travel without being restricted by their proximity to permanent treatment centers.
