DIAN extends administrative deadline suspensions in three Colombian cities

The Colombian Tax and Customs Directorate (DIAN) has extended the suspension of administrative deadlines for its offices in Buenaventura, Pereira, and Tuluá until September 11, 2026. This decision follows an assessment of structural, technological, and operational damage caused by the earthquake on August 10.

During this suspension, deadlines for administrative procedures, responses to requirements, and the filing of requests or appeals will not run. Administrative terms are scheduled to resume on September 14, 2026. The Buenaventura office is reported to be in the most critical condition due to severe infrastructure and system failures.

While other regional offices in Armenia, Manizales, Palmira, Popayán, Quibdó, and Cali have already resumed normal operations as of August 26, the extension for the three affected cities aims to protect the safety of officials and taxpayers. DIAN clarified that this suspension does not exempt taxpayers from legal deadlines for tax payments or declarations unless specifically modified by other regulations. Virtual channels remain available for remote transactions.
