Diana Morant launches candidacy for Valencia's regional presidency

Diana Morant, secretary‑general of the PSPV‑PSOE and regional minister, formally presented her candidacy to lead the Socialist list for the Generalitat de Valencia in her hometown of Gandia. The ceremony took place in the Plaza Elíptica and was attended by party militants and regional officials.

Morant, who previously served as mayor of Gandia, said she will be the party's sole contender, noting that no rival candidates have emerged. She warned that the opposition PP must be replaced, declaring “O Mazón o nosotros,” and pledged a campaign that will reach citizens in markets, libraries and health centers. The party has set a July 2‑3 window for candidate registration, after which Morant could be confirmed as the PSOE‑PSPV lead candidate for the 2027 regional elections.

She emphasized her goal of becoming the first female president of the Valencian Community and highlighted the coalition government under former president Ximo Puig as a benchmark for effective governance.
