EA confirms DICE and Respawn collaboration on future shooter project

Electronic Arts has officially confirmed a collaboration between DICE and Respawn Entertainment to work on a future shooter project. While the publisher has not explicitly named the title, multiple industry reports from Variety and statements from studio executives suggest the project is Star Wars Battlefront 3.

The announcement comes amid a broader restructuring at EA, which includes the closure of BioWare and various cost-cutting measures. Despite the focus on this new collaboration, EA emphasized that development on the Battlefield franchise remains a priority, with Battlefield 6 cited as a success that will inform future titles.

Other projects mentioned in recent internal communications include a new Star Wars Jedi game, a Marvel's Iron Man title, and the revival of the Fight Night series. Additionally, EA Sports is reportedly working on 'Project Gridiron,' a social-first open-world American football experience.
