Electronic Arts Star Wars Battlefront 3 development

Overview

Electronic Arts has confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 3 is in development as a collaboration between internal studios DICE and Respawn Entertainment. While the initial announcement noted a partnership between the two studios on an unnamed shooter project, subsequent reports clarified that the title is indeed Battlefront 3, being developed on behalf of Lucasfilm.

The project is being positioned as a priority alongside Battlefield 6 and Apex Legends. This development occurs during a period of restructuring at EA, which has included significant layoffs and the closure of BioWare. The new title follows the Star Wars Battlefront 2 release of 2017, which saw a resurgence in popularity by 2025.
