Didim Lavender & Aromatherapy Festival Opens with Suzan Kardeş Concert

The Didim Lavender & Aromatherapy Festival, organized by the Didim Municipality, opened at the Mavişehir Atatürk Cultural and Life Area. On the first day, singer Suzan Kardeş performed, beginning her set with the İzmir March and receiving enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

Local officials attended, including Murat Koçak, Imam Bakır Damar, Ali Kılıç and several CHP parliamentarians. Mayor Hatice Gençay said, “FESTİVALLER, KENTLERİN KENDİLERİNİ ANLATABİLDİKLERİ EN GÜZEL YOLLARDAN BİRİDİR,” adding that “İnsan yaşadığı kenti tanıdıkça sever, sevdikçe sahip çıkar, sahip çıktıkça korur ve geleceğe taşır.” She ordered the removal of barriers around the stage to bring the audience closer to the performers.

The festival will continue on July 4‑5 with aromatherapy‑yoga sessions, talks, workshops, local artist concerts, and free shuttle service provided by the municipality to facilitate access to event sites.
