Diecast enthusiasts engage in endurance racing and detailed miniature collecting

Diecast enthusiasts are engaging in various niche activities involving miniature vehicles. At Diecast Endurance, 1/64 scale cars are participating in a continuous endurance race using a belt sander as a roadway. The current competitors, including a Spark Oreca 07 Gibson and a MiniGT Cadillac V-Series R, have been racing nonstop for 29 days.

In the collector market, Mattel’s Hot Wheels has released a highly detailed 2026 Audi 90 Quattro from the Pop Culture/Forza collection. The casting includes a hidden easter egg: a “mooning doll” in the rear window, a reference to a detail found in the original 1989 GTO driven by Hans-Joachim Stuck. The detail is largely invisible unless the casting is disassembled.
