Diego Forlán debuts as Uruguay U-20 coach with loss to Paraguay

Diego Forlán made his debut as the head coach of the Uruguay U-20 national team with a 0-2 defeat against Paraguay. The international friendly was played behind closed doors at the Complejo Celeste in Montevideo.

Paraguay secured the victory in the first half, with an own goal in the 15th minute followed by a strike from Junio Gamarra in the 28th minute. Uruguay was unable to recover during the remainder of the match.

Forlán called up 27 local players for the two-match series, including Facundo Abreu. These matches serve as vital preparation for the upcoming South American Games in Santa Fe and the U-20 South American Championship. A rematch between the two sides is scheduled for Thursday.
