Diego Forlán debuts as Uruguay U-20 coach with loss to Paraguay

Diego Forlán made his debut as the head coach of the Uruguay U-20 national team with a 2-0 defeat against Paraguay. The friendly match, held behind closed doors at the Complejo Celeste, saw Paraguay take control in the first half through an own goal in the 15th minute and a strike by Junior Gamarra in the 28th minute.

Forlán called up 27 local players for this initial phase, including Facundo Abreu. The training cycle serves as preparation for the South American Games in Santa Fe and the South American U-20 Championship. A rematch between the two sides is scheduled for Thursday at the same venue.
