Diego Ruiloba wins Rally Tierra Isla de los Volcanes in Lanzarote

Diego Ruiloba secured his first victory in the Supercampeonato de España de Rallies (SCER) at the 28th Rally Tierra Isla de los Volcanes in Lanzarote. Driving for Lancia, Ruiloba won by a narrow margin of just one-tenth of a second over Pepe López, who competed in a Hyundai.

Ruiloba's win followed a difficult start to the competition where he lost approximately half a minute during the second special due to manifold issues. He staged a comeback, reducing an 11.9-second deficit to just 4.5 seconds before the final special, where he ultimately overtook López. This victory marks Lancia's first win in the region in thirty years.

The podium was completed by local driver Yeray Lemes in a Citroën C3 Rally2, finishing 39 seconds behind the winner. In the championship standings, Ruiloba moves to second place with 156 points, trailing leader José Antonio Suárez, who sat at 180 points.
