Overview

The 28th Rally Tierra Isla de los Volcanes in Lanzarote concluded with Diego Ruiloba securing his first victory in the Supercampeonato de España de Rallies (SCER).

Driving a Lancia, Ruiloba overcame early technical difficulties, including manifold issues during the second special that cost him roughly half a minute. He staged a significant comeback, narrowing an 11.9-second deficit to 4.5 seconds before the final stage, where he ultimately overtook Pepe López by a margin of just one-tenth of a second. This victory represents Lancia's first win in the region in thirty years.

Pepe López, competing in a Hyundai, finished second, while local driver Yeray Lemes completed the podium in a Citroën C3 Rally2, finishing 39 seconds behind the winner.

Following the event, Ruiloba moved to second place in the championship standings with 156 points, trailing leader José Antonio Suárez, who has 180 points.
