Diehl Aviation opens 12,000‑sqm aerospace component plant near Craiova, Romania

German aerospace supplier Diehl Aviation inaugurated a new 12,000 m² factory in the commune of Almăj, close to Craiova, within the Craiova Business Park developed by Romanian firm Global Vision. The investment, valued at several tens of millions of euros, will initially employ about 75 highly‑skilled workers, with plans to expand the workforce to roughly 500 as production scales up.

The facility will manufacture water and waste tanks, cabin interior panels and insulation materials for major aircraft manufacturers such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier and Embraer. All output is intended for export to assembly lines worldwide, reinforcing Romania’s role in the European aerospace supply chain. Diehl Aviation Romania SRL, founded in April 2025 and wholly owned by Diehl Aviation Laupheim GmbH, joins the group’s existing sites in Germany, Hungary and Mexico, and complements Diehl Controls’ operations in Brașov.
