Dien Bien expands educational support for border students
Educational initiatives are expanding in the border regions of Dien Bien province, Vietnam, through both corporate support and government investment.
The Dien Bien Electricity Company is maintaining its “Support for poor students overcoming difficulties” program, providing long-term scholarships to students in high-altitude areas such as Tua Chua and Sang Nhè. The program specifically supports students like Hang Thi My Duong and Giang Thi Chua, committing to fund their education through the completion of high school to ensure financial hardship does not prevent them from attending school.
Simultaneously, the Ministry of Education and Training, led by Deputy Minister Doan Trung Kien, is facilitating the opening of new, well-equipped boarding schools for primary and secondary students in border communes. To support these new facilities, the Ministry and the Vietnam Education Publishing House donated reference books valued at 200 million VND to libraries at three schools, including the Thanh Nua Boarding School, to enhance access to knowledge for students in these disadvantaged areas.
