Diesel prices dip slightly amid global crude oil volatility
National diesel prices in the United States saw a slight decrease, falling to approximately $6.38 or $6.39 per gallon. Despite this minor dip, prices remain significantly higher than the previous year, which averaged around $3.71 per gallon. This elevation continues to impact operating, transportation, and freight costs for farmers and equipment manufacturers.
Global crude oil markets remain volatile, with Brent crude hovering above $106 per barrel due to ongoing tensions involving Iran and the Strait of Hormuz. While most of the U.S. experienced a decline in diesel prices, the Rocky Mountain region saw price increases. Experts warn that if negotiations regarding the conflict do not stabilize, crude oil prices could face significant upward pressure, potentially reaching much higher levels.
