Diesel Prices Rise in France and Belgium as Oil Prices Hover Near $90 a Barrel

In France, diesel prices climbed another 10 centimes per litre during the week of 17‑24 July, reaching an average of €2.1685/L, while gasoline rose only modestly. The increase follows a rise in Brent crude, which moved from about $80.8 to $93.1 per barrel before easing back toward $81.

In Belgium, the government announced a new price grid effective 29 July, lifting diesel B7 by €0.023/L to €2.253/L and diesel B10 by €0.025/L to €2.246/L. Heating oil (mazout) also saw a slight rise of roughly €0.0025/L. Petrol grades remained stable. Both countries cite volatile oil markets and strategic reserve use as drivers of the price pressure.
