Digeig reports 93% transparency compliance in Dominican public institutions
The General Directorate of Government Ethics and Integrity (Digeig) reported that 93% of Dominican public institutions met transparency standards during the second quarter of 2026 (April-June). Out of 229 institutions evaluated, 197 achieved scores between 90 and 100 points, while 212 institutions scored 85 or higher, meeting the established compliance threshold.
The evaluation covers 'Active Transparency,' which involves the publication of monthly budget management reports, procurement and contracting procedures, public accounting reports, and payroll evaluations. It also assesses 'Passive Transparency,' which monitors how effectively institutions respond to citizen information requests within the 15-business-day limit mandated by Law 200-04 on Free Access to Public Information.
Regarding Passive Transparency, 219 institutions were evaluated, with 187 achieving a compliance level above 80% in their response indices.
