Digital Bros cancels JRPG Armed Fantasia

Digital Bros, the parent company of 505 Games, has announced the cancellation of the JRPG Armed Fantasia. The project, which was initially funded via Kickstarter in 2022, was led by former developers of the Wild Arms series and was intended for release on Nintendo platforms.

In a formal notice, the company stated the decision to discontinue development followed multiple attempts to revise gameplay. The cancellation is part of a broader move to discontinue three projects—including Directorate: Novitiate and a Battle Island sequel—after reviewing product potential against changing market conditions and required investment levels.

As a result of these decisions, Digital Bros reported a non-cash asset impairment of 18.7 million euros. This includes 17.6 million euros in write-offs specifically related to the discontinued projects.
