Digital Confectioners and Double Stallion release new game demos for Steam Next Fest

Two game developers have released expanded demos for their upcoming action RPG titles as part of the Steam Next Fest event.

Digital Confectioners has launched a new demo for ‘Keelblade: Legend of the Pirate’, an open-world action RPG set in a fantasy world. The game supports solo play or online co-op for up to six players. Players can build and customize their own pirate ships to serve as mobile bases, featuring facilities like workshops and kitchens. The combat system is described as soulslike, requiring players to master parrying and dodging. The demo includes updated character customization, a revised talent tree, and performance optimizations. The full game is scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2027.

Double Stallion has also released an expanded demo for ‘Surfpunk’, a co-op ‘Surf n’ Slash’ title playable by up to four players. Set in the flooded world of Evora, players act as Raiders exploring islands to find an ancient energy source. The gameplay involves traveling between islands on high-speed Rushboards and utilizing weapons such as swords, dual pistols, anchors, and guitars. This demo update introduces a reworked forge system, 32 new mods, four new skills, and a lobby code feature for easier multiplayer connectivity.
