Complaints regarding digital platform broadcasting services in Turkey saw a significant surge, increasing by 115 percent between July and August. According to data from the consumer platform Şikayetvar, complaints rose from 2,139 in July to 4,592 in August. This upward trend continued into September, with the 37th week of the year recording 1,005 complaints, a 20 percent increase from the previous week.
Common issues reported by users include unauthorized charges occurring after membership or subscription cancellations, and unexpected billing following free trial or promotional periods. Other frequent grievances involve technical difficulties such as freezing or interruptions during live broadcasts, failure to activate purchased packages to accounts, incorrect or duplicate billing, and difficulty reaching customer service.
Many consumers have reported that despite believing they had canceled their subscriptions, charges continued to be deducted from their credit or debit cards. Additionally, users noted difficulties in accessing cancellation options, issues with automatic renewals after termination, and challenges in obtaining refunds for charged amounts.
