Digvijaya Singh announces march to Ayodhya over Ram Mandir corruption allegations

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Congress leader Digvijaya Singh has announced the ‘Sanatan Swabhiman Yatra’, a foot march scheduled to begin on October 20 from the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain to Ayodhya. The march aims to raise public awareness regarding alleged corruption and a lack of transparency in the management of donations at the Ram Mandir.

Singh has raised several allegations concerning the temple's finances, including claims of mismanagement regarding cash, foreign currency, and gold or silver offerings. He suggested that discrepancies could amount to between 200 and 300 crore rupees, noting that existing reports have already mentioned 105 alleged theft incidents. He further alleged that CCTV footage was removed to suppress evidence.

Additionally, Singh questioned the rising costs of the Ram Mandir construction, noting that while initial estimates were approximately 800 crore rupees, the expenditure has reportedly reached 2,200 crore rupees. He demanded a public accounting of the 3,264 crore rupees in donations received from devotees and raised concerns regarding potential commissions in construction contracts and the use of funds for land purchases.
