Dinamo Bucharest coach Zeljko Kopic leaves, cites internal problems

Croatian coach Zeljko Kopic returned to Romania and spoke at the airport about his departure from Dinamo Bucharest, emphasizing that the decision was not made overnight. He pointed to internal management issues and a contentious transfer policy as key factors, and noted that he currently has no concrete offers but is in talks with Croatian TV stations about covering the 2026 World Cup.

Former Dinamo midfielder Dănuț Lupu said Kopic’s exit is a significant loss and criticised recent signings, stating “Dinamo is not a hospital of emergency” and questioning why certain players were brought in. Kopic had joined the club in December 2023, helped avoid relegation, led the team to a sixth‑place finish and a Romanian Cup semi‑final, and oversaw a fourth‑place league finish before leaving.
