Dinamo Bucharest under investor pressure as Nicolescu warned of possible departure and player sales
Renovatio, the main shareholder of Dinamo Bucharest, has issued an ultimatum to club president Andrei Nicolescu, stating that failure to qualify for European competition or win a domestic trophy could lead to his removal after the 2026‑2027 season. The investors, who own about 80 % of the club, want concrete sporting results to justify their continued financial backing.
Nicolescu told reporters that the club must generate substantial revenue by selling its star players, as the operational deficit remains large and other income streams are insufficient. He said any attractive offer would be accepted and that the club aims to cut its operating deficit to roughly a quarter of its current level, while also pursuing limited new signings.
