Dinamo București names Nuno Campos as new head coach

Romanian club Dinamo București confirmed the appointment of Portuguese manager Nuno Campos as head coach, signing a two‑year contract that runs until 30 June 2028. Campos, who led Hungarian side Zalaegerszeg to a fifth‑place finish in the Nemzeti Bajnokság I and a Cup final, will replace Zeljko Kopic, who departed after two and a half seasons. Dinamo must pay a €200,000 release clause to free Campos from his remaining contract with Zalaegerszeg.

The club announced that Campos will arrive in Bucharest next week accompanied by two of his long‑time assistants – Gonçalo Gil Cruz and João Pedro Bagão – as well as a fitness coach and a video analyst. President Andrei Nicolescu said the new staff will be involved in player scouting and squad building, moving the senior squad’s training camp up to 12 June. The appointment was welcomed on social media with the club stating, “Bine ai venit, Nuno Campos!” and noting his extensive background as a former assistant to Paulo Fonseca at clubs such as Porto, Braga, Shakhtar Donetsk and AS Roma.

Dinamo also began negotiations for its first player under the new regime, midfielder Eddy Gnahore, indicating an active transfer plan following the coaching change.
