Dino supermarket workers announce general strike for December

The trade union OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy has announced a general strike against the Dino supermarket chain, scheduled to take place from December 20 to December 23. The union is currently involved in two collective disputes with the company.

Key demands from the workers include wage increases (specifically mentioned as 900–1000 PLN gross), the establishment of a Social Benefits Fund, increased staffing to reduce workload, and improved working conditions. The union also seeks an end to the use of surveillance monitoring to control work pace, better temperature control in stores, and the protection of union freedoms.

Union leader Wojciech Jendrusiak stated that the strike is being organized to mobilize the workforce across thousands of stores and warehouses. Prior to the December action, a manifestation is planned for October 13 in Krotoszyn, alongside an attempt at further dialogue with management. Dino currently employs approximately 60,000 people and continues to expand its retail footprint across Poland.
