Dino supermarket workers announce nationwide strike in Poland
Workers at the Polish supermarket chain Dino are planning a nationwide general strike ahead of the holiday season. The escalation follows a failed attempt at dialogue between union representatives and company management.
Members of the OPZZ Konfederacja Pracy union held a three-hour picket at the company’s headquarters in Krotoszyn. Wojciech Jendrusiak, the union chairman, stated that representatives arrived seeking to discuss working conditions and wage increases but were denied a meeting with company officials.
The union is demanding better treatment of employees and higher pay. Following the refusal to negotiate, organizers have announced they are prepared to move forward with a general strike across the entire country.
