Diputación de Barcelona launches AI assistant for city councils

The Diputación de Barcelona has launched a new virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence to streamline how local city councils access resources and services from its Service Catalog. The tool is designed to replace manual searches with a system that uses natural, inclusive, and clear language to provide rapid responses.

Beyond simple information retrieval, the AI assistant acts as an orientation guide, offering personalized suggestions and detailed information that can be filtered by type. The institution stated that the tool aims to improve transparency by making published information more comprehensible and accelerating the deployment of municipal projects. The Administració Oberta de Catalunya (AOC) has recognized the project as a notable example of innovation in local administration.
