Diputación de Ciudad Real allocates 7 million euros for municipal employment

The Diputación de Ciudad Real has approved a new employment plan totaling 7 million euros to support municipal governments within the province. The initiative is designed to provide financial relief to local town halls by covering social security costs not addressed by the regional employment plan co-financed by the Junta de Comunidades, or by funding new hires.

The plan is divided into two specific funding lines. The first allocates 3,117,871 euros to cover social security contributions that fall outside the scope of the regional employment program. The second allocates 3,852,123 euros to allow municipalities to hire new staff.

Provincial spokesperson Rocío Zarco stated that the measure aims to “give oxygen to the town halls,” allowing them to meet personnel needs without depleting their own resources. Municipalities will have the autonomy to decide how to distribute the aid between the two modalities. Applications can be submitted once the official call is published in the Provincial Official Gazette, and the plan allows for the inclusion of hires made since January 1, 2026.
