Disc Medicine faces investor investigations over FDA decision
Disc Medicine Inc. is facing multiple investigations by securities law firms regarding its disclosures about bitopertin, an experimental treatment for erythropoietic protoporphyria. The scrutiny follows a decision by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in February to decline approval of the drug, requesting additional clinical evidence.
Several firms, including Rosen Law Firm, Pomerantz LLP, Portnoy Law Firm, Schall Law Firm, and Levi & Korsinsky LLP, are investigating whether the biotechnology company issued materially misleading information to investors concerning the regulatory prospects and risks of bitopertin prior to the FDA's Complete Response Letter. Rosen Law Firm has indicated it is preparing a prospective class action to seek recovery for investor losses, though no formal complaint has been filed in court.
