Disfear to release first album in 18 years, featuring deceased members

Swedish d-beat band Disfear has announced the release of ‘The Last Nail’, their first album since 2008. Scheduled for release on November 20 via Relapse Records, the album serves as a posthumous tribute to three band members who passed away from cancer: guitarist Henrik Frykman, vocalist Tomas Lindberg, and drummer Marcus Andersson.

The material was written over a 14-year period and recorded during a three-year window. Lindberg recorded his vocal parts in the spring of 2023 at Welfare Sounds in Gothenburg, prior to his cancer diagnosis later that year. The band noted that both Lindberg and Andersson expressed a desire for the album to be released as quickly as possible, with Andersson having heard the final version shortly before his death.

The album features a blend of D-beat, hardcore, and rock’n’roll. The band has released ‘Early Graves’ as the first preview track from the upcoming record.
