Disney and FieldAI test AI robots for Disneyland parking
Disney is collaborating with FieldAI to develop autonomous robots designed to assist with operations at Disneyland Resort. During the Disney Accelerator Demo Day, the companies showcased footage of robots intended to guide vehicles through parking lots to alleviate traffic congestion.
FieldAI provides the physical AI systems that serve as the robots’ brains, utilizing multiple cameras to process real-time environmental data without relying on traditional GPS or mapping systems. While other companies manufacture the physical robot bodies, FieldAI integrates its intelligence modules to allow for navigation in unpredictable environments.
In addition to parking assistance, the technology is being tested on BDX droids within the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge area. Future applications could include security support, perimeter patrols, backstage employee assistance, and delivering items to guests in attraction queues.
