Disney+ and Hulu to premiere Korean series The Remarried Empress

Disney+ and Hulu have released a trailer for the live-action adaptation of the popular Naver Webtoon, “The Remarried Empress.” The ten-episode South Korean period series is reportedly Disney’s most expensive Korean production to date.

The story centers on the fractured relationship between Empress Navier and Emperor Sovieshu of the Eastern Kingdom. The conflict intensifies when the Emperor falls in love with a runaway slave, prompting Navier to seek a remarriage to Crown Prince Heinrey of the Western Kingdom to maintain her dignity and power.

The series stars Shin Mina, Ju Jihoon, Lee Jongsuk, and Lee Seyoung. It is scheduled to have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival next month. Following the festival, the series will debut on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ in international territories on November 4, with four episodes available immediately and subsequent episodes released every Wednesday through November 25.
