Disney+ and Pokémon announce global stop-motion series partnership

Disney+ has announced a global distribution agreement with The Pokémon Company International to host a new stop-motion series titled ‘Pokémon Tales – The Adventures of Sirfetch’d and Pichu’. Scheduled for a worldwide exclusive release in 2027, the series is being produced in collaboration with the British animation studio Aardman.

Set in the Galar region, the show follows the characters Sirfetch’d and Pichu on a mission to protect and assist other Pokémon. The narrative is designed to be told entirely from the perspective of the Pokémon themselves, blending adventure, humor, and heroism. Ayo Davis, president of Disney Kids & Family, noted that the franchise maintains a unique connection across multiple generations of fans.
