Disney Announces $30 Billion U.S. Theme‑Park Investment and Cruise Line Expansion
The Walt Disney Company unveiled a multi‑decade plan to invest about US$30 billion in its U.S. theme parks through 2033. The program includes major refurbishments and new attractions at Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom, such as a villain‑themed area, a Cars‑inspired section, a Muppets‑themed coaster, and a Tropical Americas zone featuring Encanto and Indiana Jones elements.
Disney also announced that its cruise division will grow its fleet to 13 ships by 2031, adding vessels like the Disney Destiny, which will focus on Marvel and Pixar characters. The details were presented at a special event in São Paulo for travel‑agent partners, with promotional tools and ticket discounts highlighted for the upcoming Disney Believe launch in October.
