Disney+ announces app updates and Saudi-dialect content in Riyadh
Disney+ has announced a major regional update and content milestone during an event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. A primary highlight is the upcoming release of “Toy Story 5” on October 6, which will be the first film from The Walt Disney Company to be dubbed specifically in the Saudi dialect. This version features a local voice cast including Sohaib Qudus as Woody and Ibraheem Khairallah as Buzz Lightyear, aiming to provide a more culturally authentic experience for Saudi audiences.
In addition to new content, the Disney+ app will undergo a functional update for subscribers in the Middle East on October 6. The new version introduces enhanced personalized recommendations and a “Junior Mode” to provide parents with tighter controls over children's viewing. Notably, the update includes a new feature allowing users to stream while traveling in markets such as Europe and the United States, addressing previous limitations regarding regional account access while abroad.
