Disney announces ‘Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story’ movie

Disney has greenlit ‘Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story’, a new feature-length film expanding the Descendants franchise for Disney Channel and Disney+. Unlike previous installments, this story focuses on the descendants of legendary sidekicks rather than the children of major heroes and villains.

The plot centers on Sidekick Academy, a secret training facility where recruits must defend the fairytale world from a villainous duo without the assistance of heroes or parents. The film will feature music and dance, directed by Jude Weng.

The new cast includes Dior Goodjohn as Jennie (daughter of Genie), Momona Tamada as Zara (daughter of Yzma), Jacob Rodriguez as Kronk Jr., Eva Fossaceca Smedley as Meri (daughter of Merryweather), and Harry Jones as Lou (son of Lumiere). The production is led by Disney Kids & Family.
