Disney+ releases preview for ‘The Remarried Empress’ live-action series

Disney+ has released a nine-minute ‘special look’ preview for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular Naver Webtoon, ‘The Remarried Empress’. The featurette includes behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with the lead cast, including Shin Min-a, Ju Ji-hoon, Lee Jong-suk, and Lee Se-young.

Directed by Cho Su-won and written by Yeoh Geena and Hyun Choongyeol, the series follows the romantic and political struggles of Empress Navier within a fantasy setting. The production involved extensive location scouting across Europe, eventually selecting Schleissheim Palace in Germany as a primary filming site after reviewing 16 different castles.

The series is scheduled to have its world premiere at the Busan International Film Festival in early October. Following the festival, the first episodes will debut on Disney+ and Hulu on November 4.
