Disney’s Hollywood Studios to open The Magic of Disney Animation

The Magic of Disney Animation is set to officially open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 14. The revitalized attraction, located in the Walt Disney Studios Lot, is inspired by the animated short ‘Once Upon a Studio’ and features several new experiences, including the Once Upon a Studio Theater and Olaf Draws!.

Olaf Draws!, a character-drawing experience featuring an Audio-Animatronics Olaf, is reportedly utilizing an in-person virtual queue. Unlike standard virtual queues joined via the My Disney Experience app, guests may need to physically reach the attraction to secure a spot. This requirement could influence morning guest strategies at the park. The experience is scheduled to operate from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM initially, with hours shifting to 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM starting September 28.

In addition to the new animation-themed area, Disney has confirmed that roaming character interactions in the Walt Disney Studios Lot courtyard will remain a permanent fixture. These spontaneous encounters, featuring characters such as Donald Duck and Rapunzel, are intended to provide a ‘vintage Disney’ feel alongside the more structured park offerings.
