Disney themed attraction developments

Walt Disney Imagineering has shared details regarding upcoming themed environments at Disney parks, including the ‘World of Frozen’ at Disneyland Paris. At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the upcoming attraction ‘The Magic of Disney Animation’ will feature an ‘Animators Office’ containing historical artifacts and items referencing films such as ‘Moana’ and ‘Hercules’. As the September 14, 2026, opening of ‘The Magic of Disney Animation’ approaches, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has commenced cast member previews to test logistics and timing. The attraction will occupy the space formerly known as the Animation Courtyard and Star Wars Launch Bay. The reimagined Animation Courtyard will serve as a centerpiece, featuring a replica of the Roy E. Disney Animation Building and various character statues. The experience will include four distinct areas: ‘Olaf Draws!’, featuring a new Audio-Animatronic Olaf and prerecorded instructions from Disney artists; ‘Drawn to Wonderland’, a supervised play area; ‘The Once Upon a Studio Theater’; and ‘Off the Page!’, which features character encounters representing different animation departments. While the attraction celebrates the company’s animation legacy, it shifts the focus from a working studio environment to a themed guest experience. Disney has officially confirmed the September 14, 2026, opening date. Developed with input from Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Legend Eric Goldberg, the attraction aims to provide air-conditioned, interactive spaces for families. While characters such as Rapunzel, Mulan, and Stitch will move to dedicated indoor locations within the attraction, roaming character experiences in the Walt Disney Studios Lot courtyard will become a permanent fixture, with a different group of characters continuing to interact spontaneously with guests outdoors. Leading up to the opening, reports indicate that ‘Olaf Draws!’ may utilize an in-person virtual queue, requiring guests to physically reach the attraction to secure a spot rather than using the My Disney Experience app.
