Disney reveals plans for Abu Dhabi resort in new documentary

Disney has revealed preliminary details regarding its planned resort in Abu Dhabi through the Disney+ documentary, ‘Worldbuilders’. The project aims to leverage the emirate’s strategic location, which is within a four-hour reach of approximately one-third of the global population.

Bob Iger described the region as ‘an oasis of the world’ and noted the company’s interest in Abu Dhabi’s optimistic and forward-looking approach. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, stated the project is designed to pay homage to the past while offering a glimpse of the future.

Creative teams are reportedly using Abu Dhabi’s diverse biomes as inspiration for the park’s storytelling and place-making efforts, aiming to integrate the local environment into the Disney universe.
