Disney+ to premiere documentary on 2010 Chilean miners rescue

A new three-episode documentary series, ‘The Rescue of the Chilean Miners: A Race Against Time’, is set to premiere on Disney+ on September 26. Produced by Emmy Award-winning Blast Films as part of the National Geographic franchise, the series provides an exhaustive account of the 2010 disaster at the San José mine in Chile's Atacama Desert.

The production features previously unseen footage recorded by the 33 miners themselves using mobile phones while trapped 800 meters underground for 69 days. It includes interviews with survivors, family members, and rescue teams, marking the first time six of the miners have participated in an international documentary. The series covers the timeline from the initial collapse to the complex engineering operation that enabled the historic rescue.
