Disney+ to release supernatural teen drama Coven Academy

Disney+ and Hulu are set to release the new supernatural teen drama series ‘Coven Academy’ on October 2. Created by Tim Federle, the comedy-drama is set in New Orleans and follows three trainee witches navigating life at an elite magical college.

The series stars Malina Weissman as Briar, a young woman discovering her witchcraft, alongside Malachi Barton as Jake and Louis Thresher as Ollie. The plot involves the characters managing their magical powers while dealing with supernatural wars and personal relationships. Weissman described the show as having a “darker, eerie world” that evokes nostalgia for previous generations of supernatural programming.
