Disney World Alters Toy Story Land Entrance and Enforces New Phone Rules

At Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, the Toy Story Land entrance sign has been relocated. The sign, which vanished in July 2025 for construction, returned in early 2026 but now sits across the walkway from its original spot after a new popcorn and snack stand opened in its former location. The shift changes the visual cue for guests entering the land and makes the usual photo stop less convenient, while the snack stand adds extra foot traffic at the entrance.

In parallel, Disney World has tightened its loose‑item policy across multiple attractions. Cast members now stop ride dispatches if phones or other items are visible or unsecured, requiring guests to store devices in lockers or zippered pockets before boarding. The stricter enforcement is in place on newer rides such as TRON Lightcycle Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, as well as on older attractions like Expedition Everest, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain. The measure aims to prevent dropped phones that can cause ride stoppages and safety hazards, though it can increase wait times for guests.

Both changes affect the guest experience by altering entry aesthetics and requiring additional preparation before boarding rides.
