Disney World's Grand Floridian Resort opens new entrance route

Disney has opened a new permanent entrance for the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, replacing months of temporary roads and barriers with a connection to a new roundabout on Floridian Way.

While the entrance gate itself remains in its original location, the route to reach it has changed significantly. Guests can no longer use the southern roundabout and must instead use the northern roundabout.

The new navigation path has caused confusion because the exit from the northern roundabout is marked with a sign stating 'Service and Authorized Vehicles Only.' To assist drivers, Disney has installed flashing LED signs to redirect guests who miss the turn toward the resort entrance via the old Floridian Way. Currently, only the southbound lane on the old Floridian Way is open to vehicle traffic.
