Disney's Abu Dhabi theme park to feature unique biome concept

Disney is developing a new theme park in Abu Dhabi, a project expected to be one of the most advanced and interactive in the company’s portfolio. The park is being designed by Walt Disney Imagineering and will be built and operated by Miral.

In a departure from the traditional themed lands used in Disney parks since 1955, the Abu Dhabi location will instead be organized into “biomes.” This concept was inspired by the region’s diverse natural environments, such as deserts and coral reefs, which will serve as backdrops for Disney stories and characters.

While the project was announced in May 2025, an official opening date has not yet been disclosed, and the destination is still several years away from completion.
